Q) What price should I set for the item I am selling?

A) Remember, worthy causes in your community benefit when an item sales, so set pricing that entices buyers to “BUY”

Q) What kind of items can I sell on BuyitForward.com, are some things too small or too big to sell?

A) No Item is too small, no item too Big to donate to support your organization. As you will see on our website, we cover a lot of item categories and type of items that can be sold. The suggested low value for donated items is “$20”. If you just inherited a boat, car, or yacht you want to donate, all items are accepted and welcome.

Q) Does my donation need to be a new item, or can I donate a used item?

A) New or Used, we encourage people to donate items for sale with value to others, whether new or used. As an example, I recently won a nice door prize, an iPad, I already had one so it was donated to support my local humane society.

Q) Do I have to collect money from the buyer at the time of product exchange?

A) No, BuyItForward.com has already collected the full payment for the item when the buyer purchased it. There should never be a need for a money transfer at the time of the product exchange.

Q) After my donated item is sold, how am I notified?

A) You will receive a confirmation email at the time an item is sold. In the email we provide both the buyers and donors’ phone and email address, so they can arrange the buyer to pick up the item, or if preferred a neutral spot to make the exchange.

Q) How long do the Donor/Buyer have to complete the item exchange?

A) We allow five days from the time of purchase for the transaction to complete. That is the window of time we hold the funds before forwarding the proceeds to the donors designated charity. If you are not able to complete the exchange in this time it is important that you both contact BuyItForward.com within these five days.

Q) If a buyer wants me to ship an item do I have to pay for shipping?

A) We suggest the buyer pay for shipping when it is the best way to transfer the item. If you as the donor are willing to pay shipping to help your favorite non-profit, you are free to do so, but we recommend the buyer be responsible for shipping costs if applicable.

A) New and Used are sold on BuyItForward.com. We encourage people to make sure they ask if they are not sure if an item is new or used from the description prior to purchase. An “ask the donor a question” is included in the item detail display.

Q) Do I have to pay money to donors at the time of product exchange?
